T.G.I.F 5/18/2012...

Good Afternoon & Happy Friday,

Even though I'm retired Friday is still a good day!!  The picture above was taken last October on my trip.  This was as we were driving through Oak Creek Canyon on the way to Sedona.  It was a beautiful drive which built up the anticipation of seeing Sedona.  I had been wanting to go to Sedona for a very long time!  Time only allowed a few hours there but I enjoyed every moment of it except the heat!!  I was hoping it might be a bit cooler but we were there in time for a late lunch so it was during the warmer part of the day.  I wish there had been more time to explore & see more of the area.

Sandi, obviously your post worked!  Your book club sounds great.  If ever I am in the area I want to visit!  Just don't hold your breath!!  I've always been pretty adventuresome when it comes to trying new or different foods.  Thai food is great but I like most any Asian cuisine.

Cady, the appetizer we had at dinner had a peanut sauce to dip the spring rolls in.  Soooo good!  I'm glad to hear Mike has his new car.  I hope your both enjoy it.  You need a whole new airbag system.  That is a surprise, sounds like a mess.  There must have been a defect or something in production.  I bet you will be glad when it is all over with.  Have fun with the kids over the weekend.

Mary, lunch & shoe shopping with your daughter sounds fun.  Enjoy!  As much as I love the grandkids I also enjoy time with each of my daughters.  That said I also enjoy the grandkids without parents!!  The oldest that treated his mom & I to dinner the other night is always fun to be with.  We never seem to have a problem finding something to discuss.  He is interested in most everything & loves the outdoors, all kinds of music so we have some interesting visits.  He has been unable to find a full time job or even another part time job.  I keep hoping he will figure things out & find out which direction he wants to go in life.  I know he will.  I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that part of life.  I do not envy these young people launching into adulthood now.

There is nothing new at my end.  The cat made  me laugh last night.  When I brought him in for the night he was a little wild because he did not want to be inside.  He races around the house & makes me laugh.  After I was in bed but awake & reading he jumped up on the bed, meowing trying to persuade me to let him out.  I told him no he had to go to bed!  Right after I said that he plopped down across my legs fully stretched out!  It just tickled my funny bone.  You would have thought he knew just what I said.  He stayed there all of 5 seconds!!  Yes, he did settle down before I stopped reading.

Here is another picture to say so long for now.  This is a close up of rock formations in Oak Creek Canyon. I had never been in Arizona before.  What I was seeing made me know the wait was worth it.

Everyone enjoy your weekend.
Happy Reading,
Donna M
