Happy Friday, 7/6/2012...

Good Afternoon my Friends,

Friday has arrived!  Crazy week for those of you working with the holiday in the middle of the week.  It does make the day after seem like a Monday.

The picture above is of Yosemite Falls in October 2010.  This one may have been posted before but I am doing it for comparison.  Here is Yosemite Falls in June 2011 after a winter of lots of snow!  I hope you can see the difference in the amount of water going over!  The two pictures were taken on the same path leading up to the falls.  The difference was amazing!  Maybe all that melted snow will help keep us all cool!  The heat you are all getting is coming west starting tomorrow.

Sandi, apparently the truck driver forgot that there might be a clearance issue.  Was there much damage?  I, also had a special doll I hated giving up.  My grandfather gave me the doll after I was out of high school.  Sad to say at some point it had to be thrown away.  I can't remember why he bought me the doll since I was an adult but I do know that at the time there was a reason.  There was also a koala bear that one of my uncles gave me that I hung onto for a very long time.  It was suppose to be real fur & I believe it was but not from a koala bear.  Looking back it seems like it could have been mink as it was so soft.  I think the poor bear was getting bald because I petted it a lot!

Margie, it sounds like you are reading some good books.  I just got an email for a free book from Jade Lee. It is for an historical which I don't read many of these days but I wouldn't mind trying one of hers.  Your 4th sounds good.  A lazy day in the middle of the week is good for you.  Interesting that Gavin is attached to a baseball rather than something cuddly or soft.  Glad you enjoyed the Spiderman movie.  I keep debating about seeing Magic Mike.  My cousin emailed me to say she saw it & liked it.  I think I can wait until it is on DVD!

Mary, glad to see you here.  Does Don cook?  I think men need specific items when going to the store because many of them are not mentally putting a dinner together.  My ex could cook but you might not want to eat it!!  That is a serious statement.  One time when I had to rush to Oregon because my Dad was in danger of not making it through the night or a surgery, he was forced to cook while I was gone.  Our daughters told me after I was home that he made spaghetti that even the dog refused to eat!!  Even after all these years I smile or laugh about that.  The girls were very happy to have me back.  My dad did survive that night & the surgery but passed away later that same year.

The last few days I have been exploring photographers here at Google+.  There are some amazingly talented photographers out there sharing pictures here.  It makes me jealous but appreciative of their talent.  I'm such an amateur especially compared to them!  However looking at their pictures inspires me to try to do better at taking pictures.  Once again I want to say thank you to all of you for letting me add pictures to all my posts to share with you.

I finished the Blaze I was reading by Karen Kendall the title is: Borrowing a Bachelor.  It was only okay.  It is one that has been sitting on the shelf a long time!!  Sometimes I get so involved in other books that I put those aside time & time again.

Lunch is calling!!  Here is one last picture to help keep you cool!   This is all mist from Yosemite Falls due to the water pounding over the rocks & ledges.  My camera & I both got waterfalled!!!  I wasn't prepared for that.!!  When I look at my pictures & the ones I saw online I just want to go again.  Yosemite is such a special place.

Everyone enjoy the weekend.
Happy reading,
Donna M
