Monday, 7/9/2012...
Good morning Friends,
Already this month feels like it is flying by! The above picture is another one from Bryce Canyon. The shadows on the rock formations made it more interesting to me. I find the holes that wear in the rocks fascinating. How much wind, water, snow & years did it take for that to happen? Yes, me the curious outdoor girl wonders those things. :-)
Margie I thought about you last night as I was watching a program on ABC about the new Cars Land at Disneyland. I would love to go to Disneyland again! I did a lot of reading yesterday. It is such fun getting into a good book with time to read. Speaking of earthquakes! We had a small one here yesterday. It was a 3.9.
Sandi, I love the idea of ice cream for dinner. Years ago when I was working full time I would treat myself to popcorn for dinner on Friday night! It was my reward for making it through the week. For the last year or so I've tried to stay away from ice cream since my bad cholesterol has a habit of being higher than it should be. I have found non-fat yogurt to be a great substitute as it is like eating soft ice cream. We have a Yogurt Time here which is one of the self serve places. By the time I put both Hot Caramel & Hot Fudge on top it probably isn't all that non-fat!! But it tastes so yummy!
Donna H, I love the story about your tree topper. That is so wonderful that you have that. My Mom had ornaments from her childhood that we were not allowed to put on the tree when we were young. She was the one that handled them. Usually they were higher on the tree so there was less chance they would get knocked off to break. I'm not sure what happened to those ornaments as they were suppose to be handed down. They were beautiful & nothing like the mass produced ones you see now. When you read as much as we do it is not surprising that you sometimes buy a book twice then find out you have it or you already read it! I've done that myself more than once.
I need to get busy as I need to do laundry plus a few other things. Here is another picture for your viewing pleasure! This is one of my favorite pictures from Bryce Canyon. I managed to capture the color & keep the picture in focus!!
Donna H, I hope your computer comes back to you running better. Did all of you get the email from Trudy that she is having a problem with her Internet hook up? I'm thankful mine is running normally with all the news about the malware function that I kept seeing on Yahoo news & hearing on TV. I'm good about keeping my security updated. Thanks to my computer friend.
For those of you in the heat I'll wish for a cooling spell. Everyone have a good day. Happy reading,
Donna M
