Tuesday--I am glad to be back!

Hi guys!

It has been quite a few days since I was here and then the last two days I had trouble getting on the blog. I  did catch up on all the posts and took notes.

Donna M--I am enjoying all the pictures. You have a talent for taking great pictures. It sounds like you had a nice day with your gs. I also enjoyed Chasing Fire a lot. Some reviewers thought it was boring but I thought it was interesting and I liked Rowan and Gulliver.

Trudy--I hope you are ok and staying cool.

Margie--that is a shame about Gavin's swing set. My dd and sil paid to have it installed. It would have been quite an undertaking and they wanted to surprise the kids. I'm glad you enjoyed The Witness. I did too.

Sandi--Congrats to you and Mike on 30 years! That is an accomplishment. I hope Richard and Travis are better. Linda Castillo is one of my favorite authors. I have read the first two books in her Amish series. I never knew why she left Harlequin but her books are very well written and I always thought she could do better with a new publisher.

Amanda--I hope you are having a nice vacation. It is only going to get hotter! :-( The Phils seem like they are  giving up.

Cady--I hope you check in with us when you get a chance.

So I have been busy catching up after being laid up with the ankle. It is almost back to normal but I still have to take it easy. I did get back to the library last week. Today I went grocery shopping for the first time in several weeks. Don has been going each week. Sunday Karen and the kids were here for the afternoon and dinner. We put the pool up and sat out in the shade and drank ice tea while the kids and Don managed to get  all of us wet! We had fun and did a lot of giggling. Jake is eating very well now. We can't keep him full!

We are not doing anything special with the fam tomorrow. Karen and Jer only have the one day off so they are hanging out at home. Don and I will being going out to dinner. I hope everyone has a great 4th no matter what your plans.

I have been reading. I finished Wolf Winter by Clare Francis. It was long but a good story. It was written in the late 80s and set in the early 60s in Norway at the height of the cold war. It has a bit of everything--romance, history, spies, and suspense. Now I am reading Rattlesnake Crossing by JA Jance. It is a book in her Joanna Brady series and is good so far. I have also been watching some of the Olympic trials.

Our weather has been hot and getting hotter. We only had one bad storm but lots of places have been bad. My brother is living and working in Roanoke VA and he has been without power since Friday with no end in sight. He was able to get a motel room so I am glad about that. He is not a happy camper.

Well guys, have a fun and safe 4th!
Mary
