Trudy, I can't even begin to tell you how glad I am to hear that you have AC! Hopefully it wasn't too expensive and if you have to make payments it will be paid off soon! Sounds like you got some good news about the bankruptcy. Let's hope that gets resolved soon. Enjoy your CT!
Donna, I hope you get your tree topper rewired. I had some really cool lamps that I wanted Mike to rewire, but he insisted that I get new ones. I was disappointed and it took me about 2 years to find some that I liked! Part of my problem was that I had chrome tables at the time, and all the lamps were brass and I just didn't think that would match at all!
I've been totally frustrated this week at work. Ellen and John are making changes that I have to accept but am not happy with. Today I got mad when he caught me making copies and was like don't copy this on the copier...use the printer at your desk. Well, I need it two sided, and it's not like I was copying for the hell of it! Part of it is that we're over copies but that's because they hired this person to do a job that I could have done, and would have done, but wanted to wait until I knew the age group we were working with...Ellen wanted it done for all age groups, and I just knew it would require a lot of copies we might not use! Now they're making all these copies, but somehow it's all my fault! UGH!
On a more positive note...Tomorrow I'm going to go get the rest of the paint needed to finish the kitchen/laundry room/bathrooms. Couldn't make my mind up about color so just going white and can always repaint later. (Like Mike and the boys will go for that!) We did discuss getting new shower curtains and painting to match those, but after a very frustrating search of several stores Mike and I just didn't see much if anything we liked better than what we currently have, and I'm just not quite finding the paint color I want to match. Hopefully with getting this done I can have the tile people in and get the floor laid!
Mike asked me what the present was supposed to be for 30 years of marriage. I googled and found out that traditionally it's pearls, and the modern gift is diamonds. He asked if there was something I wanted. I said yes, I'd love an anniversary ring or a tennis bracelet, but what I would really love would be to take the money and redo the kitchen. I have a galley style kitchen that isn't very big at all! Two people can't stand width wise in it! I said I would love new cabinets and new counters, and if possible would like to build some extra cabinets in the breakfast room, which we use as a computer space. I'm still waiting on the estimate, but it looks like I might be able to knock out a wall, move an appliance, and add more than 3 feet of counter/cabinet space. I also would be able to get the cabinets extended to the ceiling as we don't have soffits and therefore the cabinets stop about 12 inches from the ceiling. Since the estimate was so good I'm considering having him come back and price cabinets for the laundry room as it's just shelves.
Hope everyone is good!
Sandi
