Happy July 4th...

Hello Friends, Happy July 4th,

Here is a picture of some cool blue water to help everyone that has heat!  My grandson & I think those two little white dots are sea gulls in the lagoon.  They are easier to see in a larger picture!  This little lagoon is close to the beach we were hiking to.  You can tell from the ripples in the water that it was breezy.

Cady, glad you are safely back from vacation.  I would love to see the Outer Banks but I am a bit biased about our northern California & Oregon coast!  I'm sure Maggie was so happy to get her favorite stuffed animal back.  Many years ago my youngest left her "blankie" at grandma's house.  Grandma was in Oregon we lived in California!  She was a bit upset but soon latched on to another until we got that one back at a much later time!  It does sound like the vacation was mostly a success.

Donna H, glad you stopped into to say "hi"!  The picture of all the wheelchairs decorated for a parade is priceless.  That must be a lot of fun for all the residents.  I know this is not a holiday for you but enjoy anyway!

Mary, nice to know that your ankle is almost normal.  Did you get to the store?  It is always hard to have someone shop for you although I'm sure you & Don manage that well.  I'm one of those that put meat or veggies on my list but no specifics.  It depends on what I find at the store that speaks to me!!  I haven't read The Witness yet as I will wait for it come out in paperback.  I don't know how anyone could find Chasing Fire boring but we all have different taste in our reading.  Maybe the people that thought it was boring have never known anyone that fought a forest fire.  I have!

I have no real plans for today.  This morning I got a walk in early, just a short one.  Then I indulged in coffee & cinnamon toast for breakfast.  I finished the last story in More Than Words, Volume 7.  I enjoy these stories based on a real person.  The last one was by a favorite author Jill Shalvis.  I started a Blaze which I will probably finish today as I'm going to be lazy!  Dinner will be a shrimp salad.  The other night I made brownies.  Not sure what possessed me to do that since it is so warm!!  Just needed to have something yummy & they are easy & quick.

Enjoy the rest of the day whatever you do.  I will watch A Capitol Fourth on PBS!  For all of you suffering the heat I hope it soon cools down.

Happy reading,
Donna M

One last picture!!  A nice cool picture of the ocean!
