Donna, Christie Craig might have some books only available
in e format. However she does have print books as well. She wrote for Dorchester for a bit, and I’m
confident that those are only available as ebooks, and I know she self
published one that is also only an ebook, but her new series is available in
print. She also writes young adult
paranormal as CC Hunter.
What books did you buy?
I went to BN and did a bit of reading on my nook, but no book
buying. I have about 3 different books
going on my nook, and have been somewhat skimming some others to see if they
appeal. It’s a huge time waster, but
since it’s too hot to do much of anything else it’s kind of fun!
Mary, Linda said she left Harlequin because her editor told
her that the suspense was great in her books, but she needed to concentrate
more on the romance, and while she puts some romance in her books, her heart
lies in suspense. So basically she left
to be more true to herself, and not just be writing what the publisher wanted.
(My interpretation of what she said…not what she actually said)
Does your brother have power yet? I bet the library was glad to see you back.
Cady, I’m so glad you were able to get the bear back. Once Brian left his blanket at a hotel. He was probably about Maggie’s age when it
happened, and you would think it was the end of the world! We called and were able to turn around and go
retrieve it. Luckily we had only checked
out, and hadn’t left town yet. Richard
left his Bugs Bunny at my sisters once, and he and my mom were about 2 hours
into the trip home when he realized it, and my mom being nice turned around and
retrieved it. I would have said too bad,
Aunt Ardi will mail it to mom and you’ll have it when you get home!
I’m sorry you and your sister still aren’t truly getting
along. That’s got to be hard. Especially sad to hear she hurt your feelings
after a nice trip. I think I
inadvertently hurt a friend’s feelings this week when I said I had my feelings
hurt by her. It’s a really complicated
story, but now I understand why she did what she did and her explanation went a
long way towards my feelings not being hurt anymore.
Mike ended up having to work for the 4th. We did meet for lunch. We went to Denny’s. While there we looked up what the gift should
be for 30 years. It was diamonds! I’ve always wanted a tennis bracelet, and he
offered, but I said what I really wanted was to redo the kitchen
cabinets/countertops and not have him complain.
We went to Lowes to look at cabinets.
I think we’re confused! We also I
think are basically in agreement about what we have on the wish list and what
we have on the no way are we giving up list!
The no way are we giving this up list is basically two things…a sink
with a sprayer or sprayer faucet as the one we have now has neither (this is
without a doubt not coming off the list) and the other is a floor to ceiling
cabinet where we now have basically a floor cabinet, a counter, and a wall
cabinet. That whole space is just wide
enough to hold the coffeemaker, so as you can kind of see not really
useful. If we make it big it would be
wide enough for a broom/cleaning closet, and then maybe a top cabinet for other
items. I think we’d also like a draw for
pots and pans vs. a cabinet, but that’s on the we have to see the expense list!
Also on the wish list is doing something with the small
breakfast nook that we don’t use but for junk and a computer space. Again it’s how far can we stretch the
budget. We never did our anniversary
trip, so we have that money, and I think that one of the reasons redoing
kitchens can be expensive is because of the appliance purchase…which we did
last year, so the appliances are staying for sure! Not saying it will be cheap, but I’m hoping
not as high as some prices I hear about because we don’t need appliances.
After that I came home and basically did nothing! I so need to be reading!
Amanda, have a safe trip. Nice of you to take along a friend!
Hope everyone is safe, cool, and has power!
Sandi
