Hi guys! I have been reading all the posts the past several days but had trouble posting. Hopefully I can get all caught up with everyone tonight!
A lot of things going on in the news. Of course the shootings in Colorado. My heart just goes out to all involved and the community at large. Yesterday the news of Sally Ride's passing brought back a lot of memories. Karen was only 7 when Sally made history and I remember her commenting that girls really can do anything. :-) She was a great example for girls encouraging them to go into math and science. Karen and several of her friends went into engineering partly because of Sally Ride. The other news of course is the Penn State stuff going on. Most of you know we are a Penn State family and this has all of us feeling pretty bad right now. I won't go into all that has happened but suffice it to say that there are a lot of unhappy people. It is still hard to wrap our minds around the horrible things that were covered up. Who would have believed it? I have told Karen and Don that they should not be ashamed to be alumni. PSU is a fine academic university and is not just football. They did nothing wrong. Anyway enough of that.
Margie--good to hear that your cousin will be able to go on the trip too. And I love CLARKS also. Like Sandi they are pretty much the only shoes I wear.
Cady--Let us know what you think of What Angels Fear. I brought it home from the library last week as well! I like pudding too. It was more about making the pudding for the kids and putting toppings on than actually eating that much of it! The adults enjoyed the eating!
Donna M--thanks for more great pictures. It sounds like you had a great time with your grandkids. I agree about tomatoes and basil. Do you make caprese salad? We love it in our family. I have that Karen Rose book in my tbr. I love her books.
Trudy--hope all is well with you. I never got into watching Glee. I did watch Smash this past season and it was very good and very much an adult show.
Amanda--I used to love ferris wheels. They were my favorite ride. It has been many years since I have been on one. The weather was nice over the weekend but not today. I guess tomorrow will be less humid but then it will be back to the yucks.
Sandi--I hope that Elijah is ok now. From what I remember croup sounds worse than it is. Karen only had it once and it is scary. Good luck deciding what to do with the kitchen redo.
Donna H--hope all is well with you.
I did read a book since I was here last. I read On the Night of the Seventh Moon by Victoria Holt. Very old school gothic romance and very good. I used to love her books but had not read one for years. I am now reading The Line Between Here and Gone, Andrea Kane's new one. It is good so far.
I hope everyone is having a good week. I am looking forward to the Olympics also.
Mary
