I never took notes, so I'm sure I'll miss something. I'll try and remember the main things, anyhow.
I'm very glad that a/c's are all working, and that lawyers are finding solutions. And that brothers are back home -- with power. But I'm sad that bosses seem to be making dumb decisions, and that some of you still have horrible heat -- and earthquakes?!?! Yikes!!
My tree topper is called Emil mainly because when I was little I couldn't say Angel, plus, we actually did have an "Uncle" Emil, who was a good friend of my parents. I got the cord all ready to take to John, and then went and forgot it on the kitchen table. Guess it will wait till next week. . .
My computer seems to have recovered from whatever fit it was having the other day. I just hope it lasts for a while 'cause I sure can't afford another one right now.
I finished reading "Infamous" by Suzanne Brockmann. Took me until 2 a.m. Once I got the hang of the ghost speaking as "I", and figured out how she jumped back and forth between the ghost's past and the H and h's views, it was actually all combined, and made a very interesting story. Once I got to the last few pages, though, I was a little disappointed as the explanations of how everything fell together seemed to go on and on. Usually an author will wrap a story up so fast your head spins, but this ending dragged.
Now I'm reading Shadows from the Past by Lindsay McKenna. I almost took it back to the library without reading it, but now that I've actually started, I think it's going to be okay. It's the story of Morgan Trayhern's adopted daughter. I read all McKenna's Morgan's Mercenaries books a few years ago, and enjoyed them -- most of them. I didn't enjoy the one where his wife was kidnapped and raped, so that set me off her for a while, but I think this one will be okay.
Donna, those pictures of Bryce Canyon are fabulous! I love the colors, and the formations!
Now for the really good news (saved the best for last). I had my 3-month checkup at the Dr's yesterday. He is very, very impressed with how I've done this last while. My hbA1c (three-month blood sugar average) has come down to 6.7 from 8.4, so it's right where it should be. I've lost 15 lbs, plus my blood pressure is down to 110/70 from 130/84. I feel better, I actually have the energy to do stuff, and my eyebrows have started growning back.
Hopefully I didn't forget too many things. . .
My grandkids are here for a sleep-over, so I'd better start figuring out what to feed them for supper. Hmmmm, lasagna sounds good & I think I've got everything I need.
