Happy Thursday Friends,

The day after a middle of the week holiday is no fun if you have to go to work!  So glad I am past that!!

This picture is of a big hole in the rocks/cliffs from my hike last Thursday.  I hope I didn't post this before!!  A week already!  Time flies.

I was so lazy yesterday & it is staying with me today as I am not yet dressed at close to noon!  I looked in the closet, nothing looked like anything I want to put on.  I should have done some ironing earlier but didn't think about it!  Oh well!!  I will figure out something.  Did anyone see fireworks last night?  They are not for sale here in most of Sonoma county but several of the towns have a fireworks display.  I watched them on TV, first A Capitol Fourth on CBS.  That is always a good show.  Then a portion of the Macy's one in NYC & then the Boston Pops 4th of July celebration.  Loved them all!

Amanda, you are already on your way!  I will wish you a fun trip anyway.  Glad your daughter got to swim on such a hot day.  I feel for all of you in that heat & especially those without electricity.  I know those crews are working as hard & as fast as they can.  One of my friends is married to a PG&E worker, our power company here.  Those guys are out working in all kinds of weather & often in dangerous conditions.  Since knowing them I have great respect for the work they do.

Cady,  I've seen pictures along the Outer Banks but seeing it in person is always better.  Did you enjoy the ball game?  Remodeling a kitchen is always a major expense but worth it in the long run in my opinion  Glad to hear you didn't end up with the problem of running out of gas.  That would be terrible!.

Sandi, loved your "no complaints" request to Mike.  :-)  Keep us posted about redoing the kitchen.  In the several places I lived while married I never had a kitchen I "loved".  Still don't!  We usually lived in older homes that did not have well laid out kitchens.  Builders really should give more thought to the kitchens when they build homes.  I guess it would make a big difference if you love to cook & what type of cooking you do.  One of my friends had a custom built home that had the best kitchen.  She had lots of counter space, cupboards, even a small pantry.  The kitchen had the best lay out.  I worked with her in that kitchen many times over the years.  If I were in a position to build or remodel a kitchen that is where I would not stint on anything but stay within whatever budget I had.  If you make the big changes share pictures of before, during & the finished product.

I did do a lot of reading yesterday but did not quite finish the book.  There is only a few pages left to read then it is on to one of the library books.  I best close for now, get myself dressed & go to the store.  Also I need to return one of the books I finished.  There is probably has another person waiting to read it.

Here is another picture on the black sand beach.  May the water make you think cool!

Have a good day, happy reading,
Donna M
